Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) 2020–2021, Jammu and Kashmir
The Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) is a dedicated scholarship program launched for the benefit of students from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). This initiative is implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the guidance of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to empower the youth of J&K through education outside their home state.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Students must have passed 10+2 from J&K Board or CBSE affiliated school in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Students should be domicile holders of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Students must be willing to study outside J&K under this scheme.
- Students who completed 10+3 Diploma from J&K Polytechnic can apply for direct second-year admission.
- The family income must be less than ₹8 lakh per annum.
💡 Benefits of the Scholarship
- Full Course Fee: Paid directly to the Institute, covering tuition, university, exam, library, and internet fees.
- Maintenance Allowance: Paid to the student in two equal installments for expenses like hostel, books, and mess charges.
🛠️ Admission & Allotment Procedure
- Students must submit their college preferences online.
- AICTE will set up centers in Jammu and Srinagar for document verification and counseling.
- Physical presence is mandatory during the counseling process.
- Absent students will not be eligible for the scholarship.
- Allotments will be made strictly through centralized counseling—no changes allowed post-counseling.
