ARMY SCHOLARSHIP – Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) 2019
As a noble gesture to pay tribute to our Indian armed forces for their countless sacrifices, the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) initiated the Education Scholarship Scheme for the wards of army personnel. Under this scheme, a reduction in tuition fees per semester is granted based on academic merit. Thousands of students have benefited from this initiative, enabling them to pursue higher education without financial stress on their families.
🎓 Features of the Scholarship Scheme
- Merit-based scholarship scheme.
- Open to all genders, religions, and Indian states.
- Maximum age limit: 25 years.
- Applicable from Class 9th up to Post-Graduation level.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Ward of serving Army personnel or Military Nursing Service (MNS).
- Age should not exceed 25 years at course completion.
- Must be studying from Class 9th to Post-Graduation level.
- Not applicable for wards of retired, deceased, or Territorial Army personnel.

📎 Required Documents
Attach photocopies of mark sheets or certificates duly attested by the Principal or Headmaster of the applicant’s institution. Downloaded mark sheets will not be accepted unless attested.
ℹ️ Other Important Information
- Applications will be verified by Commanding Officers or Heads of Department.
- Applications from DSC personnel must be sent via their Record Office.
- Scholarships will be disbursed through multi-city cheques or NEFT.
💰 Scholarship Benefits
- Class 9th–12th: ₹1,500 per year
- Graduation: ₹2,500 per year
- Post-Graduation & Professional Courses: ₹6,000 per year
