College Library

The College Library is a spacious and resource-rich center of learning that accommodates up to 100 students for reference work at any given time. It maintains an open access system for both students and staff, providing access to a wide range of materials including books, magazines, periodicals, and national/international scientific journals.

Facilities:

  • Reprographic Section: Offers photocopying and related services.
  • Internet Access: High-speed leased line (2 Mbps) with Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Audio-Visual Support: For enhanced learning experiences.
  • E-Journals Access: Comprehensive digital resources for research and learning.

Library Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs.

Purpose:

A library is a repository of information, resources, and services. It plays a vital role in acquiring, processing, organizing, and disseminating knowledge. The main objective is to cater to the academic and intellectual needs of its users.

Collection:

The AGC Library boasts a rich collection of over 12,000 books covering diverse fields with a strong focus on engineering, management, and computer applications. It also subscribes to 90 journals and 30 magazines (technical and general), along with prominent national dailies.

Reading Area:

With a seating capacity for 100 students, the reading area is split into two sections:

  • Basement: Houses the storage section.
  • Ground Floor: Dedicated reading hall.

Circulation:

Library services follow the principles of self-reliant and independent learning. The issue and return of books are available from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm. The library adopts the “Browne Charging System” for circulation.

Arrangement:

An open shelf system ensures easy subject-wise access to books and materials, encouraging efficient learning.

Digital Library:

Recognizing the limitations of physical collections in today’s information age, the college has established a Digital Library and is a member of DELNET (Developing Library Network). Digital resources include:

  • CDs, DVDs, Databases, and Microforms
  • 21 Computer Systems
  • Over 250 Educational CDs

The Digital Library comprises two main components:

  • E-Learning: Offers access to online seminars, lectures, and presentations.
  • DELNET: Facilitates resource sharing among member institutions.
