POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP
The Post-Matric Scholarship is provided to students who are good in studies and belong to the minority community. The minority community includes Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis). This scheme was launched in June 2016 by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) to provide financial assistance to economically weaker sections of society for higher education—from Class 11th to Ph.D. The financial assistance can be up to ₹10,000 annually.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students must belong to a minority community as listed above.
- Must be studying in Class 11th, 12th, graduation, post-graduation, M.Phil, Ph.D., or in technical/vocational courses.
- Must have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grades in the previous examination.
- The annual family income from all sources should not exceed ₹2 lakh.
Benefits of the Scholarship
Admission and Tuition Fee Assistance
- Class 11th & 12th Students: ₹7,000 per annum.
- Technical/Vocational Students (Class 11th & 12th): ₹10,000 per annum.
- Graduation/Post-Graduation Students: ₹3,000 per annum.
Maintenance Allowance (for 10 months)
- Class 11th & 12th:
- Hostellers: ₹380/month
- Day Scholars: ₹230/month
- Graduation & Post-Graduation:
- Hostellers: ₹570/month
- Day Scholars: ₹300/month
- M.Phil & Ph.D.:
- Hostellers: ₹1200/month
- Day Scholars: ₹550/month
How to Apply
- Visit: https://scholarships.gov.in
- Click on “New User? Register”.
- Enter required details: Scholarship name, scheme type, full name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, and email ID.
- Provide bank details: Bank Name, IFSC Code, and Account Number (as per passbook).
- Verify your mobile number using OTP.
- After verification, your application ID and password will be generated.
Required Documents
- Recent passport-size photograph of the student
- Domicile certificate
- Minority community self-declaration
- Self-attested copy of previous education marksheets
- Fee receipt of current course (mentioning admission, tuition, hostel fee if applicable)
- Scanned copy of Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment ID
- Income certificate issued by the competent authority
- Bank passbook copy (front page) in the name of the student or joint with parent
