The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at the post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.
Conditions & Eligibility:
- Annual income of parents/guardians must not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.
- Applicable only to Indian nationals.
- Valid for recognized post-matric or post-secondary courses in recognized institutions (exceptions apply).
- Students must belong to Scheduled Castes relevant to their state/UT and must have passed Matriculation or equivalent.
- Students repeating same level courses (e.g., B.Com after B.A.) are not eligible.
- Professional course combinations like LLB after B.Ed. generally not eligible (except dual professional studies allowed from 1980-81).
- Class XI students in continuous school courses are not eligible, unless treated as post-matric.
- PG medical students are eligible only if they are not practicing.
- Students pursuing technical/professional courses after UG/PG are eligible.
- Correspondence/distance education students are eligible.
- Employed students are eligible if income criteria is met; reimbursement limited to non-refundable fees.
- All children in the same family can avail of the scheme.
- Cannot combine this scholarship with any other. Must choose one if receiving multiple.
- Students receiving central/state government coaching stipends are not eligible for overlapping support.

- Special Coaching: Rs. 240/month (mentally ill/retarded)
Fees:
Covers all compulsory fees (e.g., tuition, library, union, games, etc.) Excludes: Refundable deposits like caution/security money.
Study Tours:
- Up to Rs. 1600/year for essential study tours (on institution’s recommendation).
Thesis Typing/Printing Charges:
- Up to Rs. 1600 (for research scholars).
Book Allowance (Distance Learners):
- Rs. 1200 per annum for prescribed books + course fee reimbursement.
